TUI SHOU- PUSHING HANDS for the harmony and the Health.  It is the art of discovering,  receiving, listening to and directing your  opponent´s energy.  PUSHING HANDS- TUI SHOU

PUSHING HANDS: An essential tehnique of TAI CHI, which tries to put the philosophy of Yin and Yang into practise.  It´s the art of discovering, reciving, listening to and  directing your opponent´s energy.  You come into physical contact with other people by ear, gently alternating tension and relaxation.  You start up a conversation by feeling, in which you make use of your partner´s movement to find your own.  You constantly go back to the starting point, through relaxation. You observe attentively, your intuition is aroused, you find a surprise and new movement each tiem: the contact and the movement is different with each partner.

You adapt yourself as you feel ready for the change.  the are no rules. It is necessary to shed pre-assumptions, pre-judgements, prenotions, as each movement requires a different answer (The first step towards self-realization) Teh movement has a root, it doesn´t appear from nowhere. It´s not empty. It´s the answer to a stimulus.

It is not a technique to unbalance or to uproot your partner, but to get to know him/her and to know where he/she is (his/her desires, fears, envy and sex)

It is of special interest to people who practise corporal techniques like TAICHI, CHI KUNG, DANCE, etc.  to people who work as teachers or with other people such as therapists or psychologists and all those you are interested in learning this art.  It is compatible with all styles of Taichi: Yang, Chen, Xin Yi....

Positions:  Fixed  or moving positions .

Aim: Turn towards your  opponent.

Objectives:  Finding your own  structure. Rooting yourself to the earth and to your own being, developing your balance, listening and relaxation.  Differentiate between the variety of strengths.

The Rule: " Never hurt yourself, never hurt anyone else, and never be ashamed of having lost your self control "
